For Individuals or Family Members
Researchers have discovered that music has a stimulating effect on the human brain and can be used to improve certain neurological disorders. The Institute for Music and Neurologic Function (IMNF), a leader in personalizing music for therapeutic benefit, is bringing its music therapy expertise to families across the country. The IMNF offers persons with disabilities, such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, depression or anxiety, assistance with connecting to music they love, that will improve their quality of life. Abundant research shows that by reconnecting patients with their favorite music, the result is often reduced depression and anxiety and better mood. This is especially helpful for persons with dementia as a way to reduce agitation and increased cooperation and attention.
Based on over 30 years of studying the effects of music on human condition, the IMNF has developed a series of programs to bring therapeutic music to you or your loved one through an iPod music player. The IMNF will work with you or your loved one to develop a list of favorite songs that will be loaded onto an iPod that you send to us.
