Center for Research and Education
The Beth Abraham Center for Research and Education was established in January 1992. Its mission is to enable investigators to engage collaboratively in research and demonstration projects on a broad range of health and medical care issues affecting the long-term treatment of chronic disabilities, to prepare and disseminate research findings, and to educate healthcare professionals and the public. The center calls upon the unique talents of investigative staff at Beth Abraham, acute care hospitals, and medical schools and universities to focus on common interests in interdisciplinary research, educational opportunities, and seminars.
Both the number of beds, range of illnesses and acuity of patients at Beth Abraham provides an ideal environment that offers a wide variety of research opportunities. Research is conducted through clinical studies, health services evaluation and demonstrations and socio-medical and demographic studies. Beth Abraham has its own Internal Review Board in order to conduct and monitor the integrity of these studies and protect the rights of our residents.
There are education programs in 21 disciplines from rehabilitation to geriatric medicine to health care administration. The Center is affiliated with 31 medical colleges, universities and university-affiliated acute-care hospitals.
