Subacute Medical Services 

The environment at Schnurmacher is tailored to the needs of patients who require medical and nursing services but who do not need the complexity of services associated with an acute-care hospital. And Schnurmacher Subacute Medical patients are out of bed more quickly and as often as possible, which helps them maintain functional status while recovery progresses. 

Subacute Rehabilitation After an accident, disability or traumatic injury, patients who have been stabilized may not be ready to return home. They may need rehabilitation services such as physical, occupational, speech or hearing therapy. Schnurmacher Subacute Rehab is tailored to the needs of patients who require these services but do not need to be in an acute-care hospital or acute rehabilitation center. This innovative program provides the highest quality care.

Long-Term: A New Approach to a Satisfying Life Many senior citizens, as well as people of all ages with chronic illnesses and long-term disabilities, have conditions that require care that cannot be provided in their own homes. Schnurmacher Long-Term is tailored to meet their needs. Schnurmacher Long-Term offers the latest rehabilitation technologies, skilled medical and nursing care and old-fashioned compassion.

Medicare, Medicaid, managed care organization, private insurance, third party payments, and private pay are accepted.  

Through a special clinical alliance, Schnurmacher Rehabilitation and Nursing and Burke Rehabilitation Hospital (www.burke.org) collaborate on providing unparalleled quality and rehabilitative care. In addition to highly specialized orthopedic, neurological and vascular programs, a full range of expert clinical and patient management services are available.
