The goal of our subacute rehabilitation program is to return individuals to an active, independent lifestyle in the shortest period of time. Patients, who receive individualized treatment from a team consisting of physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers and dietitians, benefit from Beth Abraham's use of the very latest technology.

CNR, Beth Abraham's skilled nursing facility in Brooklyn, was the first rehabilitation center in New York City to introduce an Interactive Virtual Rehabilitation and Exercise (IREX) System. This system is also now in place at Beth Abraham Health Services in the Bronx and Margaret Tietz in Queens.

CNR's virtual rehabilitation program was featured in WABC-TV's 5:00 News with Dr. Jay Adlersberg.

The Interactive Virtual Rehabilitation and Exercise Program allows patients to receive physical and occupational therapy by participating in video games that simulate activities such race-car driving, drum tapping, or bursting balloons. Patients, who view themselves on a large plasma screen as they are engaged in these activities, find therapy sessions enjoyable, entertaining and challenging.

Patients at Beth Abraham's rehabilitation facilities have a great time
watching themselves on a large plasma screen during therapeutic work sessions
using the interactive virtual rehabilitation and exercise system.

After completing each therapeutic activity, patients receive immediate feedback by reviewing computer generated results with their therapist.
